FAQs

Our inspections take two to four hours to complete. The larger the property, the more time an inspection takes.

Reports are usually provided on the same day as the home inspection. Inspecta-Home reports are comprehensive and thorough, highlighting areas of concern that should be addressed and providing detailed recommendations for resolving issues.

We recommend homeowners be present for the review at the end of the inspection, so you can ask questions and discuss findings. Prepare yourself by doing a little research to know the basics of what your inspector is looking for. This will help you understand the findings about the condition of your home.

If you’re a potential buyer and not able to be present for the inspection, do not hesitate to ask questions after you receive the home inspection report.

The following are not generally covered in a standard home inspection: pests, rodents, alarm systems, phone lines, landscaping, and airborne hazards (i.e., radon gas), just to list a few. Call us direct to discuss the home inspection process 336-934-3350

It depends. If a buyer is purchasing a home, usually the buyer pays for the home inspection. If a homeowner wants to do a pre-listing inspection to identify areas to repair before putting the house on the market, the homeowner pays for the inspection.

Inspections usually cost between $400 and $600, depending on the size, location, age, services requested, and historical significance of the house.

No. Inspections are not pass/fail constructs. Inspections simply reveal problems, hazards, and vulnerabilities that a potential buyer should know about before making a purchase. The information provided in a home inspection report allows potential buyers to research repair costs and negotiate a house price that reflects anticipated repair expenses.

Homeowners who get a pre-listing inspection have a list of items they can choose to fix or not fix.

Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from radon. The EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes when a purchase is made and every 2-5 years. Make sure that the test is done in the lowest level of the home that could be used regularly. This means the lowest level that you are going to use as living space, whether it is finished or unfinished. Call us today for same day results! 336-934-3350

First, it’s important to remember that virtually no home is perfect. If your home inspector does identify some problems during the home inspection, it doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t by the house, only that you will know in advance what to expect. You may be able to negotiate the purchase price of the home with the seller, if significant problems are found, which will help you offset the required repair costs.
